About the Position

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Track Design Specialist to lead track design projects in Victoria and contribute to major rail projects nationwide.

With a minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in track design (Pway) and project management, this individual will provide technical design expertise and delivery to existing clients.

  • Experience producing track design work across major Rail projects in Victoria is essential
  • An engineering degree and a minimum of 10+ years of track/permanent way alignment design related experience are required
  • Chartered status (CPEng) and preferably existing competencies with Victorian and national rail agencies are necessary
  • Practical knowledge and experience using civil design software such as 12d or Bentley OpenRail or Microstation are required
  • Working independently to complete planning, design, and execution of projects that meet or exceed client expectations is crucial
  • Supervising project staff and reviewing deliverables to ensure compliance with technical and quality assurance standards is vital
  • Monitoring costs on an ongoing basis to prevent them from exceeding predetermined and approved budget costs is essential
  • Working knowledge of commercial arrangements and relationships is necessary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track Design Expertise: Provide technical design expertise to existing clients for track design projects in VIC and nationally
  • Project Management: Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets
  • Leadership: Supervise project staff and review deliverables to ensure compliance with technical and quality assurance standards
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve project goals
