Retail Accounting Specialist

This position involves delivering timely and accurate reporting to support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse performance trends, helping stakeholders understand the driving factors behind results and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Lead the month-end process for Retail and eCommerce channels, ensuring accurate and timely reports and reconciliations that maintain business confidence.
- Develop new store modelling and financial proposals, focusing on providing meaningful and accurate numbers that inform team performance.
- Manage IFRS 16 lease accounting, inventory reconciliations, and strengthen internal controls, implementing more efficient processes where possible.
- Support commercial analysis and ad-hoc projects as needed.
- CA/CPA qualification (or near completion) with a Commerce/Accounting degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in retail or direct-to-consumer (DTC) sectors.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills (Power BI knowledge an asset).
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset and genuine enthusiasm for the retail sector.
