Chief Operating Officer Role

A transformative leadership position has opened up at our dynamic, fast-growing consultancy. As Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for establishing the operational backbone that enables us to scale with confidence.

This is a strategic and hands-on role, accountable for optimizing workflows across delivery, resource planning, team performance, and internal systems to meet growing demand without compromising on quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize daily operations, translating vision into seamless execution and reducing founder burden.
  • Oversee resourcing, capacity planning, and forecasting for optimal team utilization and successful project delivery.
  • Design SOPs, streamline workflows (e.g., sales-to-delivery), and drive continuous improvement of internal systems like ClickUp.
  • Lead an 'AI-first' operational mindset, implementing AI tools and automations to enhance efficiency and replace manual work.
  • Implement team scorecards, dashboards, and KPIs, establishing rhythms for performance reviews, coaching, and quality control (especially for offshore teams).

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading operations in a fast-paced, high-growth startup or agency environment, translating strategy into scalable systems and outcomes.
  • Strong command of operational systems (e.g., ClickUp, HubSpot) and business fundamentals, including P&L and forecasting.
  • Proactive systems thinker with a bias for action, comfortable managing remote teams and driving accountability for results.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills, crucial for building robust SOPs and processes.

  • Key delivery processes — from onboarding to QA — run like clockwork.
  • Clear SOPs, resource plans, and performance dashboards are established across the business.
  • Bottlenecks are eliminated, and founder dependency is significantly reduced.
  • Automation and AI tools are effectively introduced to replace manual work.
  • A strong rhythm is built with offshore teams, leading to uplifted quality, clarity, and delivery speed.
