**Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Aquatic Centre Duty Officer. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the aquatic centre.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in aquatic centre operations, including experience in supervision, emergency response planning, and staff guidance. You will work closely with the aquatic centre team leader and other staff members to ensure that the venue is operated in accordance with Royal Lifesaving guidelines and Councils WHS policies & procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a commitment to high quality customer service. They will also hold relevant certifications, such as Senior First Aid Certificate Level 2 and Royal Life Saving Lifeguard Licence.

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing operational systems and procedures, supervising staff, carrying out emergency response activities, and ensuring that on-shift maintenance/cleaning is carried out with minimal disruption to users. You will also assist the centre manager in providing onsite training and inductions to new employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement operational systems and procedures to ensure all venue operational requirements are met.
  • Supervise aquatic centre staff while on shift, providing guidance on safe operations and tasks.
  • Carry out and lead emergency response activities and plans in line with the Centre's Emergency Management response plans.
  • Ensure lifeguards carry out their duties in terms of NSW Health Department, Council and Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate Level 2 and current CPR.
  • Royal Life Saving Lifeguard Licence.
  • Certificate III in Aquatics (SIS30110) or equivalent.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Working with Children Check.
