Reliability Engineer

Newmont Australia is seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at the Cadia Mine in Orange, NSW. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of long-term asset health through strategy implementation, insight investigation, and assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement maintenance strategies for fixed plant equipment, including facilitating FMECA workshops and identifying maintenance plans for long-term asset integrity.
- Conduct asset integrity insight studies to provide detailed and accurate asset health understanding.
- Identify and communicate asset integrity improvement initiatives.
- Lead site-wide structural audits and improvement works, including scoping documents, oversight of 2-yearly audits, and project management of required improvement works.
- Manage capital improvement projects, including scope definition, project planning, funding requests, management of change, cost control, contractor oversight, and safe execution.
- Provide engineering assurance advice for mechanical and structural assets, referencing relevant Australian Standards, industry standards, site standards, and equipment manuals.
- Participate in incident investigations to provide engineering judgment and assessments as required.
- Lead safety interactions to support the effectiveness of critical controls in the field.
- Communicate effectively to provide technical advice and support for site mechanical plant and manage internal stakeholder and customer relationships.
- Ensure effective management of contractors and consultants.
- Develop own capability for work in current and future roles.
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
- Mining or heavy industry experience preferred.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Demonstrable understanding of reliability engineering and asset life planning strategies.
- Execution experience in fixed plant equipment maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with asset integrity management systems.
- Exposure and knowledge of the NSW WHS (M&PS) Legislation and Australian Standards.
