Your fixed plant and mining infrastructure maintenance experience will empower you to deliver highly effective reliability centred maintenance strategies, based on condition monitoring programs and develop asset management plans for mechanical assets.
You will utilise your knowledge and experience of static and structural assets to provide engineering assurance to our maintenance team in areas including load capacities and ratings, crane statutory requirements, tank integrity, fixed platforms stairs and ladder design and corrosion control.
You will have a passion for safety and demonstrate that through identifying and implementing safety improvements, talking to workers in the field to review safety controls, and through your personal choices as you work within the Cadia team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and set maintenance strategies for fixed plant equipment. This will include facilitating FMECA workshops for critical assets and identifying and outlining appropriate maintenance plans for long term asset integrity.
- Asset integrity insight studies to provide the organisation with detailed and accurate asset health understanding.
- Identify and communicate asset integrity improvement initiatives.
- Lead the site wide structural audit and improvement works. Maintain scoping documents, oversight of 2 yearly audit, scope and project manage required improvement works.
- Capital improvement project management including scope definition, project planning, funding requests, management of change, cost control, contractor oversight, project engineering oversight, safe execution and commission of change.
- Provide engineering assurance advice for mechanical and structural assets with reference to relevant Australian Standards, industry standards, site standards, and equipment manuals.
- Participation in incident investigations to provide engineering judgement and assessments as required.
- Safety leadership including safety interactions to help support the effectiveness of critical controls in the field.
- Communicate effectively to provide technical advice and support for site mechanical plant and manage internal stakeholder & customer relationships.
- Ensure effective management of contractors and consultants.
- Build own capability for work in current and future roles.
To succeed in this role, you will be a self-starter, enjoy continuous improvement, and have the drive to deliver consistent results. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the innate ability to communicate effectively upwards and to operational levels, along with the following:
- Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
- Mining or heavy industry – Preferred
- Project management skills and experience.
- Demonstrable understanding of reliability engineering and asset life planning strategies
- Execution experience in fixed plant equipment maintenance
- In-depth knowledge and experience with asset integrity management systems
- Exposure and knowledge of the NSW WHS (M&PS) Legislation and Australian Standards
