About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Therapist to provide mentoring, guidance and support to fellow therapists within the Sexual Assault Counselling Service team on a full-time basis.

  • The role is government funded until 30 June 2026 with possible extension.
  • The position offers a Level 7 under the SCHCADS Award with a salary range of $115,066 - $119,872 + Super.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive and culturally safe counselling and support to children and young people who have experienced unwanted sexual contact and/or address harmful sexual behaviours.
  2. Identify and work toward client goals and achieve successful case outcomes for clients.
  3. Facilitate and participate in case reviews and other case discussions as required.
About You
  • You hold tertiary degree qualifications in a relevant discipline such as psychology, social work, counselling, or allied health.
  • You are registered with the appropriate Board under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • You have at least three (3) years' experience working with children, young people and their families in similar roles.
  • You understand the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning.
Other Requirements
  • You are eligible for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
  • You hold a current driver's licence.
  • You are legally able to work in Australia.
