Senior Mine Waste Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Tailings Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in tailings management and mine waste operations, ensuring compliance with evolving standards and regulations.
- Civil and geotechnical design of tailings dams;
- Geotechnical analyses using various software packages;
- Tailings deposition modeling (Muk3D);
- Geotechnical and environmental site characterization;
- Instrumentation monitoring system development and management;
- Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
- Engineering report preparation, design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications;
- Client development and relationship building.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field;
- Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field (preferred);
- Professional registration (preferred but not essential);
- Engineer of Record (EoR) certification;
- At least 8 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment;
- Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software;
- Excellent writing and communication skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments and meeting deadlines;
- Valid Australian driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Designing and implementing effective tailings management systems;
- Providing expert advice on mine waste operations and tailings management;
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards;
- Developing and managing instrumentation monitoring systems;
- Preparing engineering reports and technical specifications;
- Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
