
Medical Leadership Role

The Director of Medical Services is a pivotal leadership role that oversees the effective management and direction of medical services provided by senior and junior medical staff within a multidisciplinary setting. The successful candidate will be an experienced and knowledgeable medical professional with strong team leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for medical services, driving growth and excellence in clinical governance.
- Provide visionary leadership and guidance to senior and junior medical staff in a collaborative and inclusive environment, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior management, patients, and community groups, promoting effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with NSW Health policies and procedures, and national accreditation standards, maintaining the highest level of quality and safety.
Selection Criteria:
- Registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) / Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA).
- Proven experience operating effectively in a clinical leadership and management role at an executive/senior level, inclusive of medical administration, medical workforce, professional practice, clinical governance, clinical ethics, clinical teaching, and clinical leadership.
- Expertise in managing health financial and activity reporting systems, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary health issues, rural healthcare priorities, and reform agendas within the NSW Health system, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, especially with senior medical practitioners and clinicians, building trust and partnerships.
