Director of Medical Services Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable medical leader to join our team as a Director of Medical Services. The successful candidate will provide effective leadership and management of medical services provided by senior and junior medical staff within a vibrant multidisciplinary setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to medical teams on patient care, quality improvement, and operational issues.
  • Lead clinical governance and risk management initiatives to ensure safe and high-quality care for patients.
  • Mentor and develop medical staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Promote effective communication and teamwork among medical staff, other healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) / Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA).
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, medical administration, and workforce management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
