About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team in Sydney, Australia.

As an Electrical Project Manager at HDR, you will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary projects, including all design services, and taking administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects, including all design services, and direct and coordinate work throughout the project's lifecycle.
  • Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions and lead and coordinate services with other sections.
  • Support daily operations of construction projects, including providing engineering expertise and project oversight, managing project quality control and quality assurance, and managing inspection services.
  • See that all work is planned, organised, controlled, and evaluated through proactive project management systems.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently, establishing and maintaining client relations, and being involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, coordinating and adjusting work effort with the team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule.
  • Work with Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews and implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships and contribute to developing new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to international projects where required/available.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent.
  • > 10 years related experience.
  • Relevant project management experience.
  • Strong communication and active-listening skills.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be an advantage).
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
