About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our dynamic Water team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design of electrical equipment, systems, and networks for engineering projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, particularly in the Water business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical investigative studies and prepare layout drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for projects.
  • Collaborate with Electrical leadership and Design Managers to oversee project execution and ensure design intent is maintained.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients to deliver valuable business solutions and understand their business needs.
  • Perform electrical engineering design, including engineering drawings, calculations, reports, and design criteria.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials, and develop electrical specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of electrical systems through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Prepare electrical engineering documents, including construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, and prepare site observation reports.
  • Recognize technical problems and initiate corrective actions.
  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and external consultants.
  • Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating to support engineering projects.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with 10-15 years of experience.
  • Well-rounded experience in the Water and Wastewater industry, with construction experience a plus.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
