Job Description

Job Title: Middle Leadership Position in Science Faculty

Job Summary:

Magdalene Catholic College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Middle Leader to join our Science Faculty. As a Middle Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the Principal in implementing the College's vision and mission, and in promoting growth in faith and improvement in learning for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of committed professionals in the Science Faculty, promoting a culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching programs that meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and motivation in Science.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy, including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.
  • Ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses within Science.
  • Proven success in Science (Stage 6).

Desirable Selection Criteria:

  • Ability to teach Religious Education and/or Studies of Religion I and/or II.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching courses within the Science KLA to HSC Level.
  • Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with to Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.
  • NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.

Working with Children Clearance:

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
