Magdalene Catholic College is seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to fill the role of Middle Leader in the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PD/H/PE) Faculty.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a team of committed professionals in the PD/H/PE Faculty, supporting the Principal in implementing the College vision and mission, and contributing to the growth in faith and improvement in learning for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of educators in the PD/H/PE Faculty
  • Support the Principal in implementing the College vision and mission
  • Contribute to the growth in faith and improvement in learning for students
  • Assist the College Executive in the conduct and organisation of the school
Essential Selection Criteria

The preferred applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:

  • A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church
  • A commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy
  • The ability to build a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data
  • The ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment
  • A comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses within PD/H/PE
  • The ability to promote both sport and active/healthy lifestyles across the College
  • Proven success in PD/H/PE (Stage 6) and/or CAFS
Desirable Selection Criteria

The ability to teach Religious Education and/or Studies of Religion I and/or II.

General Capabilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organisational skills
Qualifications

The successful applicant will require:

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching courses within the PDHPE KLA to HSC Level
  • Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with to Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period
  • NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above
Working with Children Clearance

This role is classified as child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
