About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Administration Assistant to join our team at Clarence Correctional Centre. As an Administration Assistant, you will provide high-level administration support to the Centre, maintaining efficient operations, managing data, and fostering a respectful and culturally sensitive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone and reception services to the Visits area
  • Enter visits bookings into the OIMs system
  • Answer general queries in relation to public and official visits
  • Clearly communicate with members of the public and provide appropriate information
  • Ensure appropriate lines of communication are maintained between other departments and staff regarding visitor information
  • Maintain confidentiality in all visits and inmate information

Clarence Correctional Centre is a state-of-the-art facility, opened in 2020, with a capacity for 1,700 inmates. Located on the NSW North Coast, the Centre offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing administrative support to a diverse team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing demands
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A Certificate III or IV in Business Administration (desirable, but not essential)
  • A high level of attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
