Corporate Governance Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced corporate governance specialist to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a culture of good governance, identifying and mitigating organizational risks, and providing high-level advice on legislative compliance and internal governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective governance frameworks and policies
  • Provide guidance on the application of statutory requirements in local government or public sector administration
  • Manage the administration of all registers for corporate legal documents and development of the Governance and Administration procedure manual
  • Initiate reviews and renewals of the policy manual

Requirements:

  • Formal qualifications in Business or Public Administration, Management, or other related discipline
  • Minimum 12 months experience in governance and/or administrative experience in local government or within the public sector generally
  • High level of experience with the development of local laws, policies, guidelines, and report writing
  • Extensive working knowledge and understanding of the application of statutory requirements in local government or public sector administration
