Renewable energy project development requires a strategic approach to identify and secure suitable sites for wind, PV, and BESS projects.
Job Description- As a Renewable Energy Project Developer, you will contribute to the origination and early-stage development of renewable energy projects by providing support in site identification, screening, land access agreements, grid connection solutions, and early-stage planning processes.
- Work with the Head of Origination and assist the Head of Development to progress projects from site identification through to feasibility/planning studies.
- Support members of the technical team to develop layouts throughout the development process, including supply and management of relevant technical information and reports.
- Support consultation with landowners, negotiation of landowner agreements, legal dealings, and other correspondence as required.
- Support the management of external consultants to undertake studies throughout the development process.
- Support stakeholder consultation processes with local and/or state planning authorities, other regulators, general public, landowners, and other stakeholders.
- Support the production of Environmental Impact Statement documents, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation referrals, and any other statutory applications required for project development.
- Provide on-ground support for project needs across environmental approvals, stakeholders, and land access functions.
- Work together with members of the technical team to support the electrical grid connection process.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a project development officer, renewable developer, or consultant within a related field such as land and approvals, commercial, stakeholder, environmental, and planning or project engineering.
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as Renewable Energy, Planning, Environment, Geography, Business, Law, Engineering, or Science.
- Current driving license.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to project sites.
- Proficient communication and written skills.
- Analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in GIS and/or other graphical software is beneficial.
- Ability to maintain effective and collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- Project Management skills; budget, schedule, and scoping experience.
