Cyber Security Analyst Role

This is a critical position that plays a vital role in safeguarding our digital assets against cyber threats. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations, providing expert guidance on security controls, identifying vulnerabilities, implementing protective measures, responding to incidents, and staying ahead of emerging cyber threats and trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity strategy policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and advise on control improvements.
  • Cary out regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Analyse logs, reports, and alerts to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, or breaches.
  • Respond promptly to cybersecurity incidents and breaches, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.
  • Provide training to employees to promote cybersecurity awareness and adherence to best practices.
  • Prepare detailed security reports for management on the organization's security status.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related role.
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of legislative frameworks and regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cybersecurity industry certification (desirable).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
