Job Title: Security Advisor

This is an exciting opportunity for security professionals to contribute to the Defence research community.

You will provide research scientists with security advice and capability support, undertaking specialist research and analysis to achieve defence outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying stakeholders' needs and expectations;
  • Conducting reviews, assessments, investigations, and administrative support work;
  • Providing advice and assistance on task completion methods to team members;
  • Contributing to ongoing self-improvement and professional development;
  • Working independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for achievement of outcomes.

In this role, you will contribute to developing consistent security processes, delivering complex personnel and protective security services, and monitoring security performance to ensure compliance is maintained.

To be successful in this role, you will require excellent communication, customer service skills, and the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships.

Additional requirements include:

  • Interpreting policy, developing and delivering solutions to complex problems;
  • Prioritising work, managing time and deadlines, and working proactively and autonomously;
  • Displaying patience, resilience, and the ability to self-manage under pressure;
  • Demonstrating an understanding of security risk management and making informed security decisions.
