As a seasoned Civil Engineer, you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping urban development projects in Sydney. This exciting position requires an experienced professional with a strong technical background and leadership skills.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Urban Development team. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the design and drafting program for UD projects, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing budgets and fee proposals;
  • Oversseeing civil design, including earthworks, drainage, car parks, roads, pavements, and utilities;
  • Liaising with architects, landscape architects, and engineers at project meetings;
  • Coordinating technical reviews and internal QA processes;
  • Assuming project management, bid support, and leadership duties;
  • Setting department goals and developing actionable implementation plans;
  • Enhancing engineering application processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Chartered Engineer status with NER accreditation;
  • At least 15 years' experience in civil design for buildings, urban development, land development, or brownfield projects;
  • Strong technical expertise in civil design with knowledge of relevant guidelines, Australian Standards, and Local Council Planning Schemes;
  • Understanding of brownfield projects, water environments, and water resource management;
  • Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD, 12D, Drains, and Microsoft Project;
  • Experience in QA processes and design reviews.
