Abbotsleigh School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Property and Facilities to lead the strategic management of our diverse property portfolio. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, managing budgets, and overseeing major projects. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-term facilities management strategies that align with Abbotsleigh's goals and vision.
  • Oversee daily operations, including maintenance, safety, and security of all facilities, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for facility operations, ensuring resource allocation is cost-effective and aligned with Abbotsleigh's needs.
  • Oversee contracts and maintain relationships with external service providers and contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure all facilities comply with relevant regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies.
  • Lead and manage facility improvement projects, including renovations, upgrades, and new developments to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and develop facilities management staff, promoting a high-performance culture and effective team collaboration.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to address and resolve facility-related needs and issues efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, Architecture, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, Project Management Professional) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in property management, facilities management, or construction management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing major projects and budgets.
