As a WHS Support Officer at James Cook University, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our staff, students, and the wider community. By joining our WHS team, you'll play a critical role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical assistance and support to stakeholders on WHS compliance requirements
  • Conducting regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action
  • Developing and maintaining safety documents and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance WHS practices

We're looking for someone with a strong background in WHS, ideally with a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or relevant experience. You'll also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and ability to work independently.
