About The Project

Our client is undertaking a major civil construction project in Townsville. This project presents a unique mix of civil, environmental, and construction challenges, offering an exciting opportunity for a proactive Safety Advisor to make a real impact.

The Role

We are seeking a Safety Advisor to support the project team in ensuring compliance, safety, and best practices across all site activities. Working 20 hours per week, you will play a crucial role in fostering a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide expert safety advice and guidance on-site.
  2. Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, policies, and procedures.
  3. Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  4. Develop and implement safety initiatives to improve site practices.
  5. Deliver toolbox talks and safety training as required.
  6. Foster a proactive, safety-first culture within the team.

About You:

  1. Proven experience as a Safety Advisor in civil construction or a related field.
  2. Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and compliance.
  3. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  4. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  5. Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher) preferred.
