Flood Modelling Role
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. The successful candidate will have a strong background in flood modelling and mapping.
Main Responsibilities:- Developing flood models for all phases of projects, from mapping and planning studies to detailed design of infrastructure and water specific projects;
- Managing or contributing to multidisciplinary projects, maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to deliver project outcomes;
- Contributing to business development and writing proposals to secure new projects;
- Working with surface water specialists on diverse teams to deliver projects for internal and external clients;
- Technical development, including identifying opportunities and collaborating to enhance team efficiency, reliability, and capacity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent;
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role in a consulting environment within Australia;
- Strong skills in flood modelling and mapping, ideally with proficiency in hydraulic packages (TUFLOW, HECRAS) and hydrologic software (RORB);
- Knowledge of ICM, Mike, DRAINS, EPA-SWMM beneficial; GIS packages (QGIS, Arc), and well-developed skills with Microsoft office products;
- Although not required, some knowledge of CFD analysis, terrain modelling, and design software such as 12D and python coding would be beneficial;
- Strong relationship building skills and project management skills;
- A well-developed understanding of relevant state and federal legislation and guidelines, including Australian Rainfall and Runoff;
- An eagerness to learn and contribute to a supportive team environment.
