Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to develop and implement effective community engagement strategies for flood-related initiatives.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and community members, fostering open communication and trust.
  • Organize public meetings, workshops, and consultations to gather input and feedback from diverse groups.
  • Design and distribute clear, concise communication materials that cater to various audience needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between engagement plans and project goals, driving successful outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of engagement activities, making data-driven decisions to improve future efforts.
  • Respond promptly to community inquiries and concerns, providing accurate information and support.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures in all engagement efforts, maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism.
Requirements:

A successful candidate should possess:

  • A deep understanding of community engagement principles and practices, including the ability to adapt to diverse cultural contexts.
  • Strong knowledge of flood management concepts and experience in community-facing roles.
  • Proven project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to engage diverse audiences through various mediums.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and trust.
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering engaging presentations to various audiences, conveying complex information in an accessible manner.
  • Knowledge of local council operations and flood management infrastructure is desirable.
