About This Role:

As a key member of our team, the Head of School will be responsible for leading and managing academic delivery and quality across the School of Human Services. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing course operations and delivery, including the Learning Management System (LMS) and all associated resources. They will also have the ability to provide high-quality teaching and support to students, as well as lead the development of industry-relevant strategies to promote student employability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Academic Delivery & Quality: Manage course operations and delivery, including the LMS and all associated resources.
  • Academic Delivery & Quality: Provide and support high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students.
  • Academic Delivery & Quality: Lead the development of industry-relevant strategies to promote student employability.
  • Academic People Management: Lead and manage a high-performing academic team, including recruiting, developing, mentoring, and coaching staff.
  • Academic People Management: Monitor student achievement and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Course Development & Industry Engagement: Chair Course Advisory Committees for the development and review of courses.
  • Course Development & Industry Engagement: Engage with industry and professional bodies to ensure courses remain relevant and current.
Requirements:
  • Education: A Ph.D. in a discipline or field currently being taught in the School.
  • Experience: Experience in management and leadership roles within higher education.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of contemporary developments in the discipline or field.
  • Skills: Skills in contemporary teaching and learning principles specific to the discipline or field.
