About the Role
  • Lead mine support functions such as Health, Safety, Training, Environment, Biodiversity, Community, Property, Project Development, and Approvals to support safe, productive operations and maintain the license to operate.
  • Enhance organisational efficiency through cross-function support integration and consolidating common functions into single accountability roles where possible.
  • Maintain and improve the site's centralised Compliance Management System, including standards, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Continuously improve site risk management and training systems.
  • Manage internal and external compliance verification processes.
  • Oversee the compliance calendar to align with site operations.
  • Monitor industry and legal developments to ensure timely and compliant operational changes.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with SLT, other site teams, and corporate groups.
  • Support effective project development through engagement with study groups.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum 15 years of mining operational experience.
  • Qualifications in compliance-related fields; mining, engineering, or related disciplines preferred.
  • NSW statutory mining qualifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of NSW Coal Mines Compliance requirements: Health, Safety, Training, Environment, Water, Mine Operating Plans, and Approvals.
  • Experience interacting with NSW Government Regulatory Institutions such as Resources Regulator, DPIE, EPA.
