Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth Counsellor to join our team at MARS Recruitment. As a leading organisation in the industry, we provide innovative mental health services to at-risk Teens and Young Adults.
This crucial role will see you providing support to young people from our Bunbury office and local schools. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individual and group counselling (office-based, outreach, and telehealth) to young people and their families (where appropriate).
- Supporting the Intake team by conducting assessments and managing capacity as needed.
- Maintaining strong knowledge of and collaborating with youth mental health resources and networks.
- Building effective relationships with key stakeholders in health, mental health, and psychosocial services.
- Keeping accurate client records and adhering to data collection standards.
- Participating in clinical case reviews and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure effective service pathways.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A tertiary qualification (Bachelor or higher) in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or a related field.
- Registration or membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA).
- Proven experience working with young people at risk of suicide, depression, anxiety, or self-harm.
- Strong skills in conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and providing follow-up support.
- Experience with evidence-based clinical practices, particularly in complex mental health cases.
- The ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of young people.
- A current 'C' Class Driver's Licence, reliable vehicle, and willingness to provide outreach services (with mileage reimbursement).
