About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Youth Counsellor to join our team at a leading organisation providing innovative mental health services to at-risk Teens and Young Adults. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering individual and group counselling sessions to young people and their families, as well as supporting the Intake team with assessments and capacity management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality counselling services to young people and their families, including individual and group sessions.
  • Support the Intake team with assessments and capacity management to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of and collaborate with youth mental health resources and networks to ensure best practice.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders in health, mental health, and psychosocial services to ensure seamless service pathways.
  • Keep accurate client records and adhere to data collection standards to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Participate in clinical case reviews and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure effective service pathways and continuous improvement.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or a related field.
  • Registration or membership with a relevant professional body, such as AHPRA or AASW.
  • Proven experience working with young people at risk of suicide, depression, anxiety, or self-harm.
  • Strong skills in conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and providing follow-up support.
  • Experience with evidence-based clinical practices, particularly in complex mental health cases.
  • The ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of young people.
  • A current 'C' Class Driver's Licence and willingness to provide outreach services with mileage reimbursement.
