Global Ocean Modeller Position Available

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Ocean Modeller to contribute to the development and evaluation of high-resolution ocean and sea ice model configurations in the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics (GFD) group.

The successful candidate will be working on research into the global ocean circulation and coupled ocean-sea ice system, collaborating with partners to advance research initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with researchers to develop new research initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to the Australian research community through research collaborations.
  • Develop and evaluate global, high-resolution ocean and sea ice model configurations.

Requirements:

  • PhD in physical oceanography, climate science, geophysical fluid dynamics or other relevant field.
  • Experience in modelling the ocean circulation and/or the coupled ocean-sea ice system.

Working Arrangements:

Continuing appointment for three years. The appointment may be extended subject to funding availability.

Applicants should have a strong background in ocean modelling and experience in contributing to research collaborations. A continuing appointment is offered for up to three years, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability.

This position requires a highly motivated and experienced researcher who can work collaboratively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to contribute to the advancement of research initiatives.

Successful applicants will be appointed as a Continuing Academic-level B position. The salary will be according to the Enterprise Agreement on Postdoctoral Research Fellowships 2020 at an annual salary of $95,649 - $115,427, plus superannuation and leave loading.
