Join Our Team as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team at Lismore City Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to the community in the provision of specialist advice in Environmental and Public Health functions.

About This Role:

  • The role involves providing expert advice on Environmental and Public Health matters, investigating and administering alleged breaches of relevant legislation, and developing and complying with best practice environmental management strategies.
  • You will also be responsible for delivering reporting requirements to satisfy adopted workplans and statutory deadlines, preparing technical advice and recommendations, and promoting a pro-active approach to environmental and public health promotion.
  • In addition, you will participate in and develop a teamwork approach to ensure quality service outputs and team harmony, drive a customer service approach in all internal and external interactions, and contribute to the development, implementation, and review of Environmental Health and Public Health policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the council in developing and complying with best practice environmental management strategies.
  2. Deliver reporting requirements to satisfy adopted workplans and statutory deadlines.
  3. Provide advice to internal and external customers on Environmental Health and Public Health matters.
  4. Participate in and develop a teamwork approach to ensure quality service outputs and team harmony.
  5. Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of Environmental Health and Public Health policy and procedures.

What You'll Need:

  • A degree in Environmental Health, Public Health or equivalent, together with relevant work experience.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Environmental Health.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institute.
  • A WorkCover Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
  • A current driver's license.

Salary: $86,668 per annum, plus superannuation, plus flexible work options, employee assistance and health & wellbeing programs, training and development opportunities, and a competitive salary package.
