As a Member Engagement Assistant, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality events and experiences for our members, providing exceptional customer service, and contributing to the success of our organization.
The Job Description
This casual position involves hosting events in our on-site auditorium, including managing catering, audio-visual setups, and event logistics. You will also represent Engineers Australia at off-site events, such as CPD, Advocacy, and Celebration events, and Careers and STEM outreach programs. Your responsibilities will include recording attendance for CPD and WH&S compliance, preparing event catering, maintaining a hygienic kitchen, managing auditorium inventory, and assisting with guest registration and liaison at offsite events. You will also participate in Career Fairs and STEM events as a representative, act as a House Leader at various STEM school events, and respond efficiently to inquiries from event attendees.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Host and support Member Groups in the Auditorium
- Manage catering, audio-visual setups, and event logistics
- Operate and maintain AV equipment during events
- Assist with event setup, welcoming attendees, and housekeeping
- Record attendance for CPD and WH&S compliance
- Prepare event catering and maintain a hygienic kitchen
- Manage auditorium inventory and reorder supplies as needed
- Assist with guest registration and liaison at offsite events
- Participate in Career Fairs and STEM events as a representative
- Act as a House Leader at various STEM school events
- Respond efficiently to inquiries from event attendees
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional events and experiences. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess a strong attention to detail. A background in events, hospitality, or a related field is highly desirable.
