Job Overview

The role of casual deckhand is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in customer service and vessel operations.

  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Assist with daily operations, ensuring a safe and efficient environment
  • Monitor and address safety concerns, implementing solutions to prevent incidents
  • Participate in emergency response planning and execution
  • Coordinate vehicle and passenger loading safely and efficiently, providing clear directions to passengers
  • Maintain the vessel's cleanliness and general maintenance
  • Securely moor the vessel at each pontoon, coil mooring lines neatly, and inspect and repair mooring lines when necessary
  • Conduct regular deck patrols during shifts and ensure the vessel is protected from damage while in its berth
  • Adhere to the vessel's Safety Management System and participate in emergency response procedures
  • Manage ticket sales and checks to ensure compliance
About You

You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, adhering to Work Health and Safety protocols, demonstrating attention to detail, working collaboratively within and across teams, being available to work weekends and public holidays, maintaining a professional appearance, and possessing a polite and courteous approach.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • General Purpose Hand - Certificate of Competency
  • Senior First Aid Qualification and CPR
  • High level of computer literacy including various software packages
  • Excellent interpersonal and solution-focused skills
  • Experience working effectively within and across diverse teams
  • Strong communication skills
