Primary Project Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Project Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to the delivery of transmission substations projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support in the delivery of these projects, with specialist knowledge on primary electrical engineering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Applying primary technical engineering knowledge to ensure efficient solutions can be reached on complex design projects.
  • Developing scopes and specifications for design and construction, as well as reviewing and assessing brownfield and greenfield electricity substation designs.
  • Providing technical input into staging, constructibility, operability, maintainability, and safety in design.
  • Supporting the project lifecycle by addressing Requests for Information as required.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop new or improved standards and ensuring the timely delivery of efficient solutions of complex technical engineering designs and standards.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or tertiary qualification with demonstrated experience in utilities, proficiency in design and Design management, including but not limited to:

  • Terminal Station & Substation primary layouts and diagrams.
  • Conductor and equipment rating selection and/or sizing.
  • System studies pertaining to Terminal Station & Substation design.
  • Extensive knowledge of Primary electrical equipment in respect to design, performance, functionality, operation, and maintenance.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals with extensive design and construction knowledge covering performance, functionality, operation, maintenance, and risks.
