About This Opportunity

Hope Community Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counsellor/Educator to join our team in Hedland, Western Australia.

This role involves delivering individual and group support services to individuals experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues, mental health concerns, or other life challenges.

The successful candidate will focus on providing evidence-based interventions and education programs in a supportive, trauma-informed framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver counselling and therapeutic support to clients.
  • Facilitate educational programs and group sessions.
  • Conduct assessments and create individualised treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in line with HOPE's standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • A relevant qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Community Services, or related field, or at least five (5) years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a counselling, education, or AOD/mental health support role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practice and harm minimisation.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid driver's licence.
