Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Adviser to Parliament to provide expert advice and support on policy, public administration, and political matters. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real impact in shaping the future of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide well-researched and strategic advice to senior officials on complex policy issues, particularly related to gender-based violence.
  • Maintain effective relationships across government agencies, including other minister's offices and the Australian Public Service.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to support the government's priorities and provide advice on parliamentary matters.
  • Assist in developing policy initiatives by analyzing and preparing reports, papers, and briefing notes.
  • Provide input into communications and political advice as required.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Interstate travel and occasional irregular hours may be required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience advancing gender equality through policy/programming advice and/or implementation.
  • Strong understanding of government processes and translating policy into practice.
  • Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and portfolios.
  • Ability to think strategically and deliver quality work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Professional integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
