Electrical Systems Specialist

This position is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and grounding.

  • Draft and design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and grounding.
  • Develop and implement design criteria and system designs from concept through detailed design and construction.
  • Coordinate and implement the design of distribution systems, lighting fixtures, devices, and equipment locations with team members within the discipline, as well as project team members in other disciplines.
  • Perform system calculations, size and select system components, and review shop drawing submittals.
  • Travel to job sites to perform field verification and develop organizational skills, including technical writing and time management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years electrical drafting and design experience at a MEP Engineering firm or A-E firm.
  • Associates degree in Drafting and Design (not required).
  • Proficient in REVIT.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with grounding, lightning protection, fire alarm, communications, and electronic security systems.
  • Proficiency with lighting calculations, panelboard load calculations, and load demand calculations.
  • Short-circuit analysis and arc flash hazard analysis.
