Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our organization in the Toowoomba and Ipswich region. The successful candidate will work with clients, identifying issues/needs and setting goals to build and strengthen their capacity and address areas of risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use evidence-based practice frameworks to provide high-quality support services to clients.
  • Provide supervision and coaching to team members and new starters, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Support culturally responsive services to First Nations children, young people, and carers, promoting family-led decision making.
  • Ensure the protection of children and their welfare is given absolute priority in all activities and events.
  • Support and coach foster carers to learn and grow in confidence and ability, guided by best-practice frameworks for Foster Care.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or master's in social work, with eligibility for registration with AASW.
  • Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children, young people, and families.
  • Experience in undertaking comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, monitor, and review client plans.
  • Knowledge of various Child Protection Legislation, Government initiatives, and agendas across QLD.
  • Tenacity, diligence, and resilience, with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
