About the Role:

We are seeking an accomplished Regulatory Change Professional to spearhead our organization's response to evolving regulatory landscapes. As a seasoned Compliance Lead, you will oversee the identification, assessment, planning, and implementation of regulatory changes, as well as proactively monitor developments in the energy and telecommunications sectors.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian energy regulations and regulatory bodies, with demonstrated experience leading change in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. They will possess excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess regulatory impact and prioritize compliance actions.

As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will work closely with stakeholders to implement practical and compliant solutions, ensuring that business goals align with regulatory strategies. This role requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior executives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Monitoring & Strategic Analysis: Stay informed about new and changing legislation, government policy positions, and industry trends in both the energy sectors.
  • Impact Assessment & Translation: Conduct end-to-end assessments of regulatory impacts including risks, opportunities, and process or system changes required.
  • Stakeholder & Industry Engagement: Represent our organization at external regulatory or industry forums and working groups.
  • Technology & Business Readiness: Partner with IT and project squads to embed compliance into system design and delivery.
  • Change Management and Delivery: Perform change impact assessments (people, process, systems), identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Training, Awareness & Capability Uplift: Champion awareness of regulatory responsibilities across our organization.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in regulatory change, compliance, legal, or risk within the energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of Australian energy regulations and regulatory bodies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with ability to assess regulatory impact and prioritize compliance actions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior executives.
