Job Title: Learning Support Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Learning Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, working closely with teachers and students to develop individualized learning plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement tailored learning strategies that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Provide targeted support to students with special educational needs, ensuring equal access to curriculum content and assessments.
  • Work closely with the Inclusion Team to promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and empathy within the college community.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and educators to foster a sense of belonging and well-being.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, families, and colleagues.

Selection Criteria
  • SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy skills, and experience in responding to student learning needs.
  • SC2: Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning programs on student growth.
  • SC3: Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, and developing strategies to support student achievement.
