Operate Trains and Forklifts Safely

The role of a train operator is critical to the efficient and safe movement of goods within our terminal.

You will be responsible for operating locomotives, forklifts and shunting activities with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive trains through the yard, coordinating with other operators to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate, plan and assemble trains within the terminal.
  • Operate forklifts to support the movement of goods.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with safe working principles and procedures.

This includes operating documentation into a computerised system, conducting regular equipment inspections and brake testing activities. Shift work is required as part of the role.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, think ahead and enjoy a challenge.

Ideal Qualifications:
  • A heavy forklift license.
  • Relevant locomotive and shunt driver qualifications.
  • A CV High Risk License.
  • A Full Driver's License.
  • General computer proficiency.
