About the Role

The Apex Group is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team in Sydney. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be the onsite contact for local users, providing technical assistance and resolving IT requests in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite IT support for the office, including desktop, telephony, and networking
  • Maintain the IT infrastructure of the office, ensuring all systems are running smoothly
  • Support office technologies and EUC hardware, including building and repairing laptops and desktops
  • Deploy IT equipment to new starters and collect equipment from leavers
  • Provide printer support and hands-on support for remote teams
  • Network cabling and patching in the office
  • Office moves and setups
  • IT Asset inventory management
  • Provision, deploy, and support phones
  • Work with vendors who provide IT solutions in the office
  • Collaborate with local office management on office technology issues and requirements
  • Work closely with the Group IT team
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with users, keeping them informed of the progress of IT requests
  • Highlight and report major IT issues and risks to the Service Manager
  • Research, test, and implement new systems to improve efficiencies and satisfy user requests

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a computer-related support or IT operational environment
  • Good technology understanding and awareness of MS technologies, including Intune, Active Directory, and Office 365
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English
  • Experience with documentation and improving SOPs and other process documents
  • Good customer focus and excellent timekeeping
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently
  • Experience with configuring and supporting Windows Desktop (10/11)
  • Some experience with supporting physical networking is desirable but not essential
