Research and Development Specialist

This role provides a range of technical and specialist skills and services, which support the work of the Research Team on various projects related to breeding, physiology and agronomy of rice.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct scientifically sound data collection procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of research equipment, infrastructure, methodologies and protocols.
- Develop foundational knowledge of management of glasshouse and field experiments.
- Utilize plant physiology equipment and methodologies to contribute to research projects.
- Support the development of research documentation and administrative processes.
- Prepare high-quality graphs and figures for presentations and manuscripts.
- Provide general research support, including ordering and maintaining consumables.
- Participate in research group meetings and contribute to discussions.

To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Year Twelve or Diploma qualification, or a Certificate IV with relevant work experience; or Completion of a post-trades certificate and relevant experience and on-the-job training; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Fundamental knowledge of management of glasshouse and field experiments.
- An understanding of scientifically sound data collection procedures.
- Computer and database literacy skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- High-level inter-personal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Commitment to excellence and an ability to work diligently with a high level of accuracy.
