Hatchery Assistant Job Overview

At our leading duck producer, we are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit individual to join our breeding program as a Hatchery Assistant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the loading and packing of eggs and ducklings for local transport, handling and grading fertile duck eggs for hatching, sorting and grading eggs and day-old poultry, preparing eggs for incubation, operating modern automated equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitization of incubators, hatchers, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and packing eggs and ducklings
  • Handling and grading fertile duck eggs
  • Sorting and grading eggs and poultry
  • Preparing eggs for incubation
  • Operating automated equipment
  • Maintaining equipment cleanliness

We provide uniforms and on-the-job training for the right candidate. Previous experience in the Poultry Processing or Food Manufacturing industry is highly regarded.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Physical fitness to lift, push, and pull trays up to 10kgs repeatedly
  • Comfortable working with live poultry
  • Will to work weekends
