About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Groundsperson to maintain our racetracks, gardens, and grounds at one of our Racecourses.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain the upkeep and care of our racetracks, including regular maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial, and other surfaces.
- Operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front end loader, forklifts, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers, and general spray operations.
Duties:
- Maintenance work including labouring, cleaning, tracks, gardens, and maintenance instructions.
- Conduct routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial, and other surfaces.
- Operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front end loader, forklifts, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers, and general spray operations.
Working Hours:
Working hours on non-race days: 8:30 - 5:00pm. During a race week you will work Tue-Sat, when it's not a race week the work will be Mon-Fri.
The Right Fit:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in turf management.
- General operational and mechanical maintenance skills.
- Appropriate licences to operate specialist machinery such as a manual vehicle, front end loader, and forklifts.
- Experience in operating plant and equipment including Bobcat, Grader, and Excavator.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals.
