About the Role:

The NSW Government is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter to join our team. As an On-Call Firefighter, you will work from your local Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Fire Station and be responsible for undertaking a wide range of duties, including community fire safety work, attending fires and other emergencies, and collaborating with other emergency services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake community fire safety work, including education and outreach programs
  • Attend fires and other emergencies, including motor vehicle accidents and chemical hazards
  • Collaborate with other emergency services, including NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, and NSW Police
  • Participate in training sessions and drills to maintain and improve skills
Requirements:
  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1)
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station
Selection Process:

The selection process will involve a number of assessments, including an interview, physical aptitude test, and pre-employment health assessment. We recommend that you read the On-Call Firefighter Candidate Information Pack and utilise the available resources on our Careers Page to assist with your preparation.
