Job Description:

The Deputy Principal will be responsible for assisting the Principal in leading the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision. This involves providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deputising for the Principal when required
  • Upholding the deputy principalship as a values-based, ethical and moral activity
  • Embedding socially just practices in daily school life
  • Setting high standards for student and staff performance
  • Participating in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development
  • Forming partnerships with parents, government agencies, community groups, industry and business
  • Being futures-oriented and strategic
  • Understanding legislation and policies that impact schooling
  • Managing resources to achieve goals
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience and skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with teachers, staff and the school community
  • Sound knowledge of education policies and legislation
  • Ability to manage resources effectively
