Electrical Inspector Role

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of consumer installations connected to our network.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and technical requirements as agreed upon by EnergySafety.
  • Conduct complex inspections on electric installations, verifying adherence to applicable regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Prepare and issue orders for non-compliant installations.
  • Investigate instances of non-compliance by electrical contractors and workers.
  • Provide technical reports on electric shocks and fires as per legislated requirements.
  • Undertake progress inspections on major installations.
  • Offer specialist advice to network personnel and facilitate industry discussions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • A Current Electrical Workers License is essential.
  • You must be designated as an Inspector (Electrical).
  • A Certificate IV in Government Investigations is required.
  • You must possess a Certificate of Energy Coordination Act 1994, Electricity Act 1945.
  • Detailed knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution networks is necessary.
  • Familiarity with AS3000 and West Australian Electrical requirements is crucial.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience are required.
  • Experience in electrical metering and/or installation practices, regulations, and procedures is necessary.
  • A valid WA Driver's License Class 'C' or 'C-A' is required.
