Job Title: Student Wellbeing and Support Officer

We are seeking a professional to champion the social-emotional development and learning outcomes of our students.

About the Role
  • Elevate student wellbeing, resilience, and pro-social behaviours through tailored interventions.
  • Enhance learning outcomes by establishing support networks with staff, families, and community agencies.
  • Assist staff in identifying and addressing student needs, especially for those requiring additional support.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be empathetic and proactive, and have experience working with students who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Elevate student wellbeing, resilience, and pro-social behaviors through tailored interventions.
  2. Establish support networks with staff, families, and community agencies to enhance learning outcomes.
  3. Assist staff in identifying and addressing student needs, especially for those requiring additional support.
  4. Collaborate with service providers to plan and deliver preventative programs for students at risk.
  5. Participate in case conferences, offering informed consultancy and guidance.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting; and
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit before starting.
