Special Needs Support Assistant

We are seeking to establish a pool of support professionals who can assist students with special needs in various educational settings.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs. As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing individualized support and accommodations to ensure that students have equal access to education.

  • Assist teachers in understanding student needs and developing effective learning plans.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students in academic and non-academic settings.

You will work collaboratively in a team environment, have excellent communication skills, and be able to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members.

The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 who have an Intellectual Disability and/or Autism. Currently, there are approximately 89 students in our school from Kindergarten to Year 6.

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of your appointment.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before commencing.
  • Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
